Deleting your data
How to delete your account and everything in it, what goes, and what we have to keep.
Last updated 6 October 2026.
Delete it yourself, and it happens straight away
Sign in, open Account, and use Delete account. You confirm by typing the word DELETE — there is no undo, so we make you say it rather than click through a dialog.
It is not a request that goes into a queue. The account is gone by the time the page comes back.
Your subscription is cancelled first
Before anything is removed, any live subscription is cancelled. If that step fails the deletion stops and nothing is touched, so you can never end up with no account and a card still being charged.
What is removed
Your account and sign-in, your email address, your name and date of birth, every video you uploaded and every cut we made from it, your remaining credits, your profile photo, and your whole support history including any files you attached to a conversation.
Videos and attachments live in object storage rather than the database, so they are deleted explicitly rather than left orphaned.
What we keep, and why
Records of payments held by our payment processor. Tax law requires them to be kept, the right to erasure does not override a legal retention duty, and they are not ours to delete.
Our own record of actions our staff took — for example that a refund was approved — is kept with your reference removed. The customer's data is theirs; the record of what we did is ours to account for.
If you signed in with Facebook or Google and cannot get in
Email hello@tikeditor.com from the address on the account and ask for deletion. We act within one month, as UK GDPR requires, and usually far sooner.
Removing the app from your Facebook settings stops Facebook sharing anything further with us, but it does not delete the account you created here. Use Account, or email us, for that.
Same rules, whichever way you signed in
Nothing above is specific to one sign-in method. An account created with Facebook, with Google, or with an email address and password is deleted the same way and leaves the same residue, which is to say almost none.
