What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to get rid of it.

Who controls your data

Probe Edge Digital FZ-LLC (licence number 47026046), FOAM2987, Compass Building, Al Shohada Road, Al Hamra Industrial Zone–FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates is the data controller for everything described here. Contact us at hello@tikeditor.com.

We are registered in the United Arab Emirates and offer this service to people in the UK and the EU, so UK and EU data protection law applies to what we do with your data.

If you are in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, and if you are in the EU to your own data protection authority. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.

What we collect, and why

Your email address, so you can sign in and so we can send you the things you asked for. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Your name, given at signup. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Your date of birth, only if you apply to the partner programme (or signed up before October 2026, when the signup form asked for it). It is used once, to check you are 18, and never shown to anyone. Legal basis: our legal obligation and our legitimate interest in not paying or serving children.

Your video. The original you upload is kept for 3 days after its cut is made, so you can change the cut without uploading it again; the finished cut is kept for 30 days. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

A written record of what is said in each video and of what we removed from it, kept beside the finished cut for the same 30 days. It is what the “What was cut” list on each video is built from, and how we can explain a cut if you ask. It is deleted with the video. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

A record of each job — file name, length, whether it worked, and the error if it did not — kept so support can answer you and so we can find bugs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the service.

Support conversations and any screenshots you attach. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

If you ask us a question from the website without an account: the email address you give and what you wrote, kept as a support conversation so a person can answer you. The address is used for that answer and is not added to any mailing list. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

If you allow notifications in the app, a device token so we can tell you when we reply or your cuts are ready. The notification shows a first name and the first words of a reply, never a file name. Turn either kind off in Account, or remove the permission on your phone. Legal basis: your consent.

Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store Stripe's customer id and a card fingerprint, which is a meaningless string outside Stripe and cannot be turned back into a card; we use it only to stop one person claiming referral commission on their own second account.

Website analytics, and why there is no cookie banner

We count page views ourselves rather than using Google Analytics. No cookie is set and no identifier survives the day: a visitor is recorded as a one-way hash of IP address, browser and today's date, so the same person is a different visitor tomorrow and nothing can be joined across days. Your IP address itself is never written down.

That is why there is no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to. It also means we genuinely cannot follow you around, which was the point.

Who we share it with

Supabase, which hosts our database and handles sign-in. Cloudflare R2, which stores finished cuts. Stripe, for payments. Resend, which sends our email. Hetzner, which hosts the server, in Germany. Discord, where our team is told about new support messages, including their first words. Expo, which passes app notifications on to Apple; staff browser notifications travel through the browser maker's own push service.

That is the entire list. We do not sell data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not send it anywhere else.

How long we keep things

Finished cuts, and the written record of what was said and removed: 30 days, then deleted automatically.

The original you uploaded: 3 days after its cut is made, then deleted automatically. The clean-up runs once a night, so an original can remain for up to a day beyond that.

Support attachments: 90 days after a ticket is closed, or 30 days after you delete your account.

Your account and its history: until you delete your account.

A question asked without an account: until you ask us to delete it. Email hello@tikeditor.com from that address and we will, within one month.

Records of payments: kept by Stripe for as long as tax law requires, which is currently six years. We cannot delete those, and neither can you.

Your rights

You can see what we hold, correct it, take it elsewhere, or have it erased. Deleting your account from Account does the erasure immediately: your account, videos, credits and support history all go, and any subscription is cancelled first so you are not charged again. We send one email to your address to confirm it.

If you would rather ask us to do it, email hello@tikeditor.com and we will act within one month.

One exception, and we would rather be straight about it: we cannot erase the record of payments held by Stripe, because we are legally required to keep it.

Where your data is

Our server is in Germany. Our database and email provider operate in the EU. Cloudflare R2 and Stripe are US companies operating under the UK and EU transfer frameworks.

Security

Sign-in is handled by Supabase and we never see your password. Every table in our database refuses access unless the row belongs to you. Finished cuts are private and reachable only through a link that expires in ten minutes, after we have checked the video is yours.

No system is perfect. If we ever have a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the ICO within 72 hours of finding out.
